The Cinders Freeride

The Cinders Freeride

The Cinders in Flagstaff, AZ makes for some other worldly freeride.

It's an OHV designated recreation area, with several large cinder cones - remnants from volcanic activity over 1000 years ago.

Riding the cinder cones is a blast.

Pushing up is not for the faint of heart however (shuttling with a side by side would be ideal), especially since the elevation is 6900'.  It's like walking on beach sand vertically.

Fishtailing down the cones, blasting into deep "black pow" with basalt cinder flying everywhere is a unique experience not to be missed though...a freeriders dream!
